Campus & Greek Life Involvement

University of Michigan

Being involved in a sorority on Michigan's campus is an incredibly rewarding experience that has allowed me to foster personal growth, lifelong friendships, and a deep sense of community. Sorority life offers me a built-in support system, connecting me with like-minded individuals who share values, goals, and a commitment to service and leadership. It continues to provide countless opportunities for involvement,f ranging from philanthropy events, campus leadership roles, and even academic support, allowing sisters to build confidence, develop valuable skills, and create lasting memories. Ultimately, being part of a sorority has and continues to enhance my college experience by combining sisterhood, service, and success in a way that shapes me and the sisters for life. Below are the philanthropic events and sisterhood I experienced as a member of Alpha Chi Omega in the Theta Chapter at the University of Michigan. Scroll to see my life as a sister. LITB ❤︎

Puppies for Purple

Puppies for Purple is an event held by the sisters at no other than our lovely house on 1212 Hill Street. With a $5 admission ticket, anyone was allowed to come to our house's lawn and play with the puppies of our amazing sisters. Aside from the cutest puppies ever, we also had food ranging from hot dogs, fruit, puppy chow, and more, a flower bouquet making station, pin-making stations, a Kona Ice truck, and more. It was such a great environment. I was able to help run the event and I am so honored to be a part of such an amazing experience, supporting an incredibly important cause. All proceeds went to the Women's Center of Southeastern Michigan, raising awareness for Domestic Violence.

Cakes and Pies with Alpha Chi

Cakes and Pies with Alpha Chi was a cozy and sweet event held around Valentine's Day, right inside our warm and welcoming house on 1212 Hill Street. We turned our living and dining room into a charming bake sale, filled with homemade cakes, pies, cookies, and more made lovingly by the sisters of Alpha Chi. Guests were invited in to enjoy delicious desserts and support a meaningful through this event. I had the opportunity to help run the event by setting up tables, decorating, baking, serving, and talking to guests. It was such a heartwarming experience to see our house come alive with laughter, conversation, and the comforting smell of fresh-baked goods. Just like with Puppies for Purple, all proceeds went directly to the Women's Center of Southeastern Michigan to help raise awareness and support for victims of domestic violence. I’m so grateful to be part of something that brings our community together for such an important cause.

Panhellenic Peer Educators: Sexual Violence Education & Empowerment

As I begin my Panhellenic journey, my pledge class was asked if we would like to apply to become a member of PPE SVEE. Panhellenic Peer Educators: Sexual Violence Education & Empowerment. I was unsure of what it really was, but figured I would apply if it meant I could represent a good cause. I ended up going through a competitive web of applications and Zoom interviews for it, but I ended up being selected as a member and to represent the program! PPE SVEE members are typically trained to facilitate workshops, discussions, and events that support a culture of care and accountability within sororities and the broader campus community. The focus is to raise awareness about sexual violence, educate members of the Greek community on consent, healthy relationships, bystander intervention, and survivor support, and empower students to take an active role in prevention and creating a safer campus culture. Newly a member of PPE SVEE at the University of Michigan, I am extremely excited to begin work on expanding my knowledge in these topics, so I can become a valuable resource for anyone hoping to seek help or speak up but are unsure of how to do so.
